AMPRO CMMS Applications
AMPRO JSA

AMPRO Applications has released the AMPRO JSA module. The JSA(Job Safety Analysis) module allows you to assign the already approved JSA’s to Jobs. Those Assigned to the Job must sign before the JSA can be signed off as completed. If at anytime the JSA is edited during the signing process, all signatures are removed and must be signed again.

What is a JSA

JSA stands for Job Safety Analysis. It is a systematic process used to identify potential hazards in the workplace and develop measures to mitigate or eliminate those hazards. The primary goal of a JSA is to ensure the safety and health of workers by analysing the steps involved in a specific job or task and identifying potential risks and hazards associated with each step.

The JSA typically involves the following steps:

  1. Job Identification: The specific job or task to be analysed is identified and defined clearly.
  2. Job Breakdown: The job is broken down into a sequence of steps or tasks. Each step is examined separately to identify potential hazards.
  3. Hazard Identification: For each step, potential hazards and risks are identified. This can include physical hazards, such as machinery or chemicals, as well as environmental factors, ergonomics, and potential human error.
  4. Risk Assessment: The identified hazards are assessed to determine the severity of the risk and the likelihood of an incident occurring. This helps prioritize the hazards for control measures.
  5. Control Measures: Preventive measures are developed to eliminate or minimize the identified hazards. This can include engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE). The goal is to find ways to make the job safer or reduce the risk of injury or illness.
  6. Communication and Training: The findings of the JSA are communicated to all workers involved in the job, and relevant training is provided to ensure they understand the hazards and control measures.
  7. Review and Update: The JSA should be periodically reviewed and updated to account for changes in the job, workplace, or regulations. New hazards should be identified, and control measures should be revised if needed.

JSA is an important tool in occupational safety and health management systems, helping organizations identify and manage workplace hazards to prevent accidents, injuries
